![]() ![]() In 1979, in the year of Milton Cunningham's passing, on March 28th, a partial nuclear meltdown occurred at the power plant at Three Mile Island Pennsylvania. His nomination to the Supreme Court was approved by the Senate, 69 to 11. Marshall was the great-grandson of a slave and graduated first in his class at Howard University Law School. In 1967, at the age of 72 years old, Milton was alive when on October 2nd, Thurgood Marshall was sworn in as the first black US Supreme Court justice. Over 1500 died, making it the largest maritime disaster in modern history. There were only enough lifeboats for about half of the passengers so over 1,000 remained behind while "women and children first" were loaded. Five of her watertight compartments failed but she was designed to survive only 4 being flooded. The RMS Titanic was a British built and run passenger liner that was billed as "unsinkable." On its maiden voyage from Southampton England to New York City, carrying about 2,224 passengers and crew - from the wealthiest people in the world to poor emigrants from Europe, the Titanic hit an iceberg. ![]() In 1912, Milton was 17 years old when the RMS Titanic sank in April. ![]() Previously called "Oklahoma Territory" and "Indian Territory", the two areas were merged and Oklahoma became the 46th state. In 1907, Milton was merely 12 years old when the state of Oklahoma was admitted to the United States on November 16. ![]() The game was between the Latrobe YMCA and the Jeannette Athletic Club. In 1895, in the year that Milton Cunningham was born, on September 3rd, in Latrobe, PA, the first professional football game was played.
